Sean Bean Chased Chris Hemsworth for Cash in This Little-Seen Thriller
Chris Hemsworth and Sean Bean starred in the 2010 crime thriller Ca$h, where a couple keeps a briefcase of money and a stranger demands it back.

Chris Hemsworth once teamed up with a Game of Thrones star for a crime thriller that very few people saw, and the money at the center of it was not his to keep. The film is the 2010 release Cash, also styled Ca$h, and the co-star is Sean Bean.
Slashfilm revisited the movie in a report published October 4, 2026. Here is what it says about the film, and how it fits into two very different careers.
A Found Briefcase and a Stranger at the Door
Stephen Milburn Anderson directed Cash. Hemsworth plays Sam, and Victoria Profeta plays Leslie. They are a couple in financial ruin who find a briefcase full of money and keep it instead of turning it in.
That decision brings a visitor. Bean plays a stranger who shows up at the couple's door and will not let them off the hook until they repay every penny.
Anyone who has pocketed a bill off the sidewalk knows the basic idea. In this film, the money comes with a collector.
Where Ca$h Fits in Two Careers
Slashfilm places the movie at the start of Hemsworth's film career, before his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It also puts the film just before Bean's run as Ned Stark in Game of Thrones, though the report gives no date for that series, so the exact overlap is unclear.
The same report notes that Hemsworth had played Captain Kirk's father in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek a year earlier. In other words, he was a rising name rather than a household one, and Ca$h arrived in that gap.
A Release That Barely Left a Mark
Roadside Attractions acquired the U.S. rights, and Lionsgate handled home video. After that, the film seems to have vanished quietly. According to Slashfilm, it made no impact at the box office and has almost no meaningful critic reviews.
As of the outlet's October 2026 report, the film holds a 32% audience approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film's budget was never officially revealed, though Slashfilm judges from the trailer that it was very low-budget.
Important Note: Neither a confirmed budget nor a box-office total appears in the reporting, so neither is stated here. The same goes for the number of critic reviews, which Slashfilm describes only as almost none of note.
No Harm Done: Where Both Actors Ended Up
A flop can follow an actor around, but Slashfilm says Ca$h flew under the radar and does not appear to have hurt anyone involved. Bean remains consistently employed, and Hemsworth is one of Hollywood's most in-demand leading men.
Hemsworth has stayed in crime territory, too. Wikipedia notes that in 2026 he starred opposite Mark Ruffalo in Crime 101, which he also executive produced.
Anyone who goes looking for Ca$h will have to do it without a critics' consensus to lean on. With almost no meaningful reviews on record, you would be the one deciding whether Sam and Leslie should have turned in that briefcase.
